Review: James Graffenberg, AIS Massage Therapist
James uses the Vitruvian Man as his logo. A man stretching the world, he explained. I think that there is a lot more to this image that James knows about!

I recently had the pleasure of making a simple site for a local Massage Therapist, James Graffenberg.  I enjoyed working on the site, and got a good feeling about the gentleman for whom I was making the site.  I never met him directly during the design and development process, but had a feeling that when I did I would like him a lot.

The opportunity to meet James came when I went in a few days ago for some body work.  He has testimonials on his site from people who either received body work or attended workshops from him.  The testimonials and “Pateint’s Are Saying” parts of the site speak very highly of his work.  I especially liked the patient who wrote. “My legs and feet are laughing.”

Gandhi declared

I want to change people's minds, not kill them for weaknesses we all have

I was watching the movie, Gandhi, with my students today and this quote from him really struck me.

He was out to help (or force) people to change for the sake of justice and inequality, but not to judge them.

Grateful for the opportunity to renew

For me, the wintery time of the new year is the time to reflect on the year gone by and make resolutions for the coming one.

As I move through this cyclical time, I realize how grateful I am that we have the opportunity to continually renew our efforts for self-cultivation.

A long-time friend and I were talking about this and he pointed out that even when the seemingly last door shuts on us, another opens.  I wish everyone the best with keeping their inspiration and strength with their resolutions for this year.

Margaret Mead encouraged

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

This quote hung on the door of all Social Studies rooms at Springbrook for several years.

Waiter Rant challenged

Character is forged in the smallest of struggles. Then, when the big challenges come, we're ready.

A wise person told me once that unless we can let go of things in our daily lives, when the big opportunities come for growth and true sacrifice, we won’t even recognize them as opportunities.
