I know that Michael Franti’s song One Step Closer to You is probably about a love for a woman.  In true Haifz fasion, though, I tend to think of most love songs as being about spiritual love for our divine friend.  It’s in this light that this song rings so precious:

Temptation rarely comes in working hours. It is in their leisure time that men are made or marred.

There are a couple of variations on this one smile  Leisure is the devils playground.  So true, so true.

Yet, staying busy is not the only solution.  Actually it is just a distraction from the real solution: being able to control ourselves in times of rest and relaxation.  Enter in methods such as yoga, meditation, and prayer.

Someone told me once that the best time to practice mindfulness and deep contemplation is to use our leisure time to quite our minds and find an inner satisfaction that roots out the temptations that call to us when we are not running around busy.
