The Bandage Comes Off

I have learned a lot from my back surgery.  Even as the bandage comes off and some feeling returns to my leg, I must still rest and take it easy.

This does not come naturally to me, and being forced to slow down and nurture my help has been a great blessing.  I am truly appreciating my summer more in this condition.  Give thanks!

You Don’t Just Walk Up and Hug a Redwood

I realized something on this last trip: you don’t just walk up and hug a redwood.  They’re way too humbling.

When I first walked up to a redwood on my trip up the California cost I was immediately humbled.  It was just so solemn.  Ancient.  Amazing.
