Man this one hit home for me.  For all those times when I think that something is the way it is because of biological or environmental reasons, this reminds me, there is always another way.

But, as Pastor Perry says, it’s not going to happen by accident.  It’s going to take spiritual discipline.

One of the powerful messages that hit me in the last message at DC Metro was how we should not be caught up in identities based around gifts that we have been given from God.  Rather, we should identify being children of the God who gave us these gifts.

I love this line from the track, New Day, off Watch the Throne album about Jay’s job as a father. 

I can relate and hope for the same, if not more.

At the celebration for the angelic and amazingly full of grace woman, Jean Markely, I took note of someone who remembered her for saying this. 

A testimony to a woman who was celebrated for doing the right thing with style and grace.

This comes from the reading for Gebo, meaning Partnership or Gift. 

It reminds that true partnership is the coming together of two whole beings.  This applies to both with other selves and with God.
